Our Story

Moabelo D (Pty) Ltd is an emerging South African luxury brand which was founded in August 2020 during the height of the mid-pandemic national lockdown. Our initial undertaking was to design heels that allow our women to walk in the whole day. The underlying thought was to infuse business confidence, leadership presence and lifestyle fabulosity whilst they walk tall with their heads held up high.

The company is founded and led by Mmasetshaba Desiree Moabelo, who is also the Head of Design. During her self-reflectory moments during the lockdown, she stumbled upon a video of a young lady who had immense difficulty walking in heels. As the video progressed her discomfort intensified, and so did the humiliation. Mmasetshaba was moved with compassion and empathized with her. As a result, it conceived the brand and fueled the commencement of Moabelo D (Pty) Ltd.

Moabelo D was ideated as a response to the video aforementioned, but it morphed and developed into a reimagined state and philosophy for women in corporate, leadership, influence and lifestyle. These women are precisely those who are vision-oriented, high-performance wired, ambitious, extravagant and relentlessly pursue their dreams. Therefore, at Moabelo D, we position ourselves in their shoes with conscious remembrance of the journey they are about to walk.
